Mark's Acoustic Neuroma Surgery Recovery
On November 7, 2003, Mark was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma. An acoustic neuroma, or AN, is a small, benign tumor that grows on the nerve of hearing in the brain. Mark underwent a successful surgery to remove it on January 23, 2004, and was away from work for six weeks to recover.
On this page are a few pictures taken during this time. Please note these pictures are somewhat large and take some time to load.
One picture is from the hospital, and the other three are of family who came down from Canada to help and support us during this time.

A sunny day back at home on the porch. That's Janet's Mom, Esther McNeill, on the left. Esther came down from Whitehorse, Yukon in Canada to help out - she was here from January 21st to January 31st, 2004.

Mark's sister Jackie and her husband Mike Martens arrived just as Esther left on January 31st, and stayed with us through to February 4. This is a picture of them taken in front of our bougainvillea.
Monday, February 23, 2004
Mark's Mom, Judy Weller, came to stay with us and help out from February 16 to February 23rd. This picture was taken of us in our living room just before she headed back to Penticton in British Columbia, Canada.
