Death Valley Trip Page

In October of 2002, we went to visit Death Valley National Park which is located near he California/Nevada border.     Here are some pictures from our trip.

To the left, here is Janet on our second day as we prepared to have breakfast at our campsite near Furnace Creek.

To the right is a picture of Mark at Dante's Peak which is a mountain view overlooking Death Valley.

Another picture of Mark, this time at the entrance of an abandoned mine on Twenty Mule Road.

Right:  Natural land bridge in Golden Canyon.

To the left is a picture of Artist's Palette, a group of rocks that with mineral deposits which make them appear to have been painted in all sorts of pretty colors.

Right:  The salt deposits at Badwater.  Near here is the lowest land in North America - the elevation at the point of this sign is more than 250 feet BELOW sea level.

Left:  A picture of some of the cool rocks at Trona Pinnacles.  This is actually not a part of Death Valley - in fact, its many miles distant.  But, we stopped by here on our way back from Death Valley, so its part of the same trip.

There are some other, silly photos taken on this trip in a section of this site called Fun with Action Figures in Death Valley follow this link to Mark's Star Wars page.
