UK Trip Page
Mark here. In September 2003, I went on a vacation with my Mom, Dad and sister to the United Kingdom.
I arrived first, and then the next day I met up with my sister in London, who flew in from Calgary. We got to do some touristy things - below is a picture of Jackie coming out of a Phone Box near Trafalgar Square.
And then below is a picture of me at Tower Bridge.. as you can see we had lovely weather.. and it lasted the whole trip!
Later, my Mom and Dad arrived in London.. here's a picture at a restaurant at Heathrow just after they arrived.
The next day we all headed out to Devon to visit with my cousin Michael and his family.
While there, we toured a number of sites, here is Dad with at one historic site we visited in Exeter.
And here is a photo of our hosts, my cousin Michael and his wife Shirley. They put us up for a couple of nights and were extremely hospitable. Michael and Shirley and their three daughters live in Copplestone, a small farm community near Crediton where they run a general store. The three girls were just returning to studies at various colleges when we arrived in early September.
After visiting in Devon, we headed off by train to visit my Aunt Iris at her home in Hook.
Below is a of picture of Iris, her little brother (my Dad, of course) and my Mom. They were being kind of silly - Iris is rolling her eyes at my father's poses.
Finally, below is a picture of everyone that gathered at my Aunt Iris' home in Hook on September 15, 2003. The picture is taken in Iris' garden.
