Christian Links
Here's some links to some Christian resources on the web. These are all organizations that Janet or I have been directly involved with at one time or another. - Mark
Our Home Church - and former home churches. What's our home church? Well, Janet first attended Whitehorse Baptist when it was still a part of the Gospel Missionary Union. Mark first attended services in Revelstoke at a Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada church. As a result, our faith life together has had a mixed, or, as we like to call it, Bapticostal flavor to it ever since. This is reflected in the places we have worshipped since 1988.
Newport Mesa Church. Formerly Newport Mesa Christian Center. This is our current home church, based in Costa Mesa, California. We started attending on December 17, 2000. It is part of the Assemblies of God (AG), a large Pentecostal denomination in the United States.
First Baptist Church, Vancouver. This was our home church from April 1992 to June 1994 when Mark held a job there as a church secretary and database administrator. Then, we returned there after moving to our downtown Vancouver condo in late 1998. We attended through to when we left for California in November of 2000. First Baptist is part of the Baptist Union of Western Canada.
Broadway Church, Vancouver. Currently, Vancouver largest church, which we attended from 1994 to 1998. It is part of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC).
Point Grey Community Church. We attended this church from the day it opened on February 19, 1989 until Mark was hired at First Baptist Vancouver in April of 1992. Led by Pastor Robb Powell at that time, it has since moved from its original location on Larch Street. We were married at this church, at it's old Larch Street location, in August of 1990. PGCC is part of the PAOC.
Whitehorse Baptist Church. This is Janet's family church in Whitehorse, in Canada's Yukon Territory. Janet's Mom and Dad (and many other friends and family) attend there, and Janet's sister Lauren and her husband Kevin were at one time part of the ministry staff. This is the church that Janet attended consistently from when she was one week old (late May 1969) until she graduated from High School in 1987.
Whitehorse Baptist was initially a church plant set up by the Gospel Missionary Union, then became a locally governed independent church. In recent years, it was become affiliated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada.
Revelstoke Alliance Church. This is the church that Mark attended while working for the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada (CMA) in the summer of 1987. Mark was a handyman at a CMA camp located in Eagle Bay, British Columbia.
University Chapel, Vancouver. This is the church that Mark attended when he first came to the University of British Columbia in 1986. An interdenominational church, U. Chapel has brethren roots.
Revelstoke Pentecostal Church. This is Mark's first church fellowship, located in Revelstoke, British Columbia. Mark attended here from October 1982 to August 1986. Revelstoke Pentecostal is part of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.
